Get close to nature and enjoy time with our sheep, cows and sheepdogs

Farm visits

We love to share how we are farming here at Saddlescombe.  Visits will include discussions on our journey to regenerating the soil, our rotational grazing management, our sheep and cows being grass fed and how this combination is part of the solution for our climate.

We will demonstrate our sheepdogs Fly and Ted working, take a tractor and trailer ride (weather permitting) and depending on the time of year gather some sheep so we can feel their fleece and discuss their welfare in more depth.  Please contact us to find out more.

Open days

During lambing time, March and April, we open over 2 weekends. A wonderful opportunity to see a working farm at its busiest and learn from us, our vet students and helpers how the sheep are an integral part of this beautiful landscape here in the South Downs. We can’t guarantee a live birth but there is plenty to see with other young lambs, tractor and trailer rides (weather permitting), delicious local food and activities with the National Trust. We occasionally open during the summer for Open Farm Sunday which takes place in June.

Follow us on social media for all the latest news on our Open Days.
